‘Khushi Utsav’ at DPS Hinjawadi Brings Republic Day Alive with the Spirit of Inclusion and Shared Responsibility

Delhi Public School (DPS), Hinjawadi observed Republic Day 2026 with a thoughtfully designed initiative titled Khushi Utsav and Khushi Bazaar, reflecting the core constitutional values of empathy, inclusivity, equality, and collective responsibility.

As part of the celebrations, the school invited 50 families from a nearby Zilla Parishad (ZP) school in Nande village, extending a warm and respectful welcome to students and their family members. Utility and learning kits were carefully assembled and distributed in a dignified manner, reinforcing the principles of compassion, respect, and equal opportunity.

Students of DPS Hinjawadi played an active role throughout the event, participating enthusiastically and embracing the spirit of service. The celebration was further enriched by parent-led stalls offering food, ice cream, and simple games, creating a joyful and welcoming atmosphere. Specially arranged adventure zones and activity areas ensured that the visiting children and families experienced a day filled with excitement and engagement.

A deeply symbolic highlight of the event was the flag hoisting ceremony, jointly conducted by the youngest child from the visiting ZP school and the Principal of DPS Hinjawadi. This moment stood as a powerful representation of unity, equality, and shared national pride.

While addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Jaya Parekh reiterated the message of “Anekta mein ekta hai, aur ekta mein bal hai”, emphasising the strength that comes from unity in diversity. She underlined that all children are equal and spoke about how the act of sharing fosters meaningful learning and emotional growth.

The initiative was warmly appreciated by the ZP school Principal, teachers, and students, who acknowledged the inclusive culture of DPS Hinjawadi, the dedication of its staff, active student involvement, and the thoughtful vision behind the programme.

Envisaged as the beginning of a sustained commitment, Khushi Utsav and Khushi Bazaar are intended to become an annual Republic Day tradition at DPS Hinjawadi. The initiative reflects the school’s belief that education should nurture not only academic excellence, but also empathy, responsibility, and a strong sense of citizenship.
