Fuel Supply Remains Stable
Officials from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas said refineries are operating at high capacity and maintaining adequate stocks of petrol and diesel.

Authorities advised consumers not to panic, noting that supply chains remain functional despite disruptions linked to the Strait of Hormuz.
Push for PNG and Alternate Fuels
To reduce pressure on LPG demand, the government is accelerating the shift to piped natural gas (PNG).
In recent days, over 13,700 new PNG connections have been issued, while more than 7,300 consumers have transitioned from LPG.
City gas distribution companies have been directed to prioritise PNG supply for households and commercial establishments such as restaurants and hotels.
Consumers have also been encouraged to use alternative options such as electric or induction cooktops.
Decline in Panic Buying
The briefing noted a sharp drop in panic LPG bookings—from 89 lakh on March 13 to about 55 lakh a day earlier—indicating stabilising public response.
LPG deliveries continue as normal, with priority given to essential services such as hospitals and educational institutions.
Enforcement Against Hoarding
Authorities have intensified enforcement measures to prevent black marketing and illegal stockpiling.
More than 4,500 raids were carried out across states in the past 24 hours, leading to the seizure of around 4,000 LPG cylinders.
Oil marketing companies have also conducted inspections at fuel outlets and distribution points.
Maritime Operations Unaffected
Officials from the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways said India’s maritime sector is functioning without disruption.
No congestion has been reported at major ports, and cargo handling operations continue smoothly.
Indian-flagged vessels and seafarers in the Persian Gulf region remain safe, with continuous monitoring by authorities.
Support for Indian Nationals Abroad
The Ministry of External Affairs said assistance to Indian nationals in West Asia is ongoing.
Thousands of citizens have returned to India in recent weeks, with missions facilitating travel, repatriation, and consular support.
Control rooms remain active to assist individuals stranded in the region, including seafarers and pilgrims.

The government said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken with leaders of Oman, Malaysia, France, Jordan, and Qatar to discuss the situation.
